Community Outreach
There is currently a lack of attention for HCI and UX research and application for marginalized people in Indonesia, such as seniors, children, rural people, and people with disabilities. Through CHIuXiD community outreach, we invite the international communities to apply HCI and UX principles to address issues of the local communities.
Community Outreach 2018
In 2018, the conference participants visited a nursing home in Yogyakarta, Central Java, where they made a meaningful connection with the elderly women and build their empathy. The insights gathered from the user stories were analyzed using Design Thinking approaches to explore possible solutions for these elderly people.
Community Outreach 2017
In 2017, the conference participants visited a village at Jampang Village, Parung, West Java, where they interacted with 30 farmers’ wife who have small business. We worked closely with them to create their user journeys, identify daily problems in their business and look for solutions for their problems using Design Thinking.
